At the beginning of 2014, one of mine and Tim’s favourite things to do was day-trips up to the mountains. Apparently nothing has changed! After Christmas there’s kind of a no work, no school, no commitment lull so, with not much taking up my days except napping, coffee-dating and playing way too much Frozen Free Fall (hey new iPhone 6!), a trip up to Lake Louise and Banff was welcomed with open arms.
We drove to and from the mountains listening to the Serial podcast which is, if you haven’t indulged in it already, AMAZING. Seriously, go listen to it. I promise you’ll become addicted.
Lake Louise was about -30 C with the windchill. So cold in fact, that when I breathed onto my scarf, my hair froze to it. But that’s what you get when you visit the great white north at the end of December, I guess — a north that is great and very white. That makes you frozen!
2014 ended and began in the same way — full o’ love. I had some life-changing highlights from this year that I hope to talk about in another post, but for now I’m saying thanks to Tim, my very warm blanket scarf and the Rockies for making my day out west so great.
Happy New Years Eve, everyone! As always, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy what’s left of 2014.
